# Knowledge base

Approximately 500 public documents across six source categories.

### Coverage

The collection contains approximately 500 public documents. Source preparation included correcting categories, removing duplicates, and adding latest publications. The document count is approximate and should not be read as a claim of complete coverage.

### Six source categories

| Category | What it contributes |
| ------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| UN resolutions and frameworks | Foundational YPS frameworks, including UNSCR 2250 and subsequent resolutions. |
| UN publications | Institutional guidance, progress studies, and agency reporting. |
| Regional organization documents | Regional frameworks, approaches, and institutional perspectives. |
| National action plans and strategies | Documented national approaches and comparative practice. |
| Academic research | Research, analysis, and academic commentary; not every item is peer-reviewed. |
| Civil society and NGO publications | Practitioner experience and field evidence. |

### Choosing sources

The product's source filter lets users focus on a category. For example, selecting national action plans can help narrow a comparison to documented national approaches. Narrowing a filter also narrows the evidence available for the answer.

### Different evidence, different claims

A resolution, a research article, and an NGO field report can each be useful, but they serve different purposes. Policy commitments are not proof of implementation; recommendations are not the same as binding requirements; field observations may be specific to a place and time.

### Coverage limits

The collection does not represent every language, community, country, or perspective equally. A topic's absence from an answer does not mean there is no relevant knowledge outside the collection. Check source dates and context when using country-specific findings.
